During the beginnings of home Internet, dial-up, and home PCs, I made a lot of mistakes. I didn’t know that much about the Internet, other than you could get just about anything from it – music, movies, books, online reads, etc. The dangers of that meant any and every link was “safe”. As we know now, they are not. As a writer, nothing is worse than having all of your work erased from a hard drive, with no backups of anything that hadn’t been shared.
That was how I began a career in technology, first starting with taking college courses and receiving my CompTIA A+ certification and then by working within the field. As I learned, I also began incorporating my writing skills to further knowledge and information for those new users on how to better manage their systems and more importantly, how to keep safe online.
